Bushel of vegetables

On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, Plumsted for Progress, in partnership with Sabbath House and the Plumsted Township Environmental Commission, launched a new initiative aimed at promoting wellness, healing, and unity among residents.

The coalition hopes to revitalize the once-flourishing Community Gardens located at 8 Front Street in New Egypt (at the corner of Front Street and Brindletown Road). The rejuvenated Community Gardens will provide residents with beautiful, sustainable, and inclusive spaces to grow food, socialize outdoors, and attend educational workshops. Surplus produce will be donated to local food pantries.

Get involved today! The coalition is currently seeking diverse volunteers from all backgrounds and ability levels to help with planning, fundraising, volunteer management, marketing, construction, planting, maintenance, and more. Flexible volunteer-from-home and in-person opportunities are available. Get started by emailing Phyllis Zoon at phylliszoon@gmail.com.
